“ You can’t go back and make a new start, but you can start right now and make a brand new ending.”
- James R. Sherman
January often starts with people making grandiose claims of self improvement that will be abandoned by February and, come December they find themselves disappointed. What was supposed to make you feel better ends up doing the opposite.
Failing a New Year’s resolution is not because you are incapable of succeeding, it is because your resolution is stopping at a simple statement. Saying you want to eat healthier is going to get you nowhere. You need to have a good reason to keep yourself motivated and a plan how you are going to get there. Make a schedule, set little goals, maybe even DIY a vision board.
If a New Year’s resolution seems daunting, you don’t need to have one. You can practice self-improvement any day of the year, it will never be too late.
