Internship application season is among us. I’m writing this to extend some sympathy to others who are going through the same miserable process I am. If you have never written a cover letter or been asked what your biggest weakness is, I envy you. I spend my days refreshing my email and scrolling through LinkedIn. Of course, every time I open up LinkedIn,

I am bombarded with post after post of peers announcing they got their dream internship, which in my mind can only mean one thing — I’m the only person in the entire world without one.

This all sounds really dramatic, but if you have been/are going through the process you know how stressful it can be. But remember, you can only do so much networking and interview preparation. The rest is out of your hands. If you get an internship — great, good luck! If you don’t, it isn’t the end of the world. You have the rest of your life to be underpaid and overworked.
