Dear reader,
We want to know what you’re thinking.
Did you read an article in our paper you liked? Maybe one that you didn’t? Why? Is there something you think we missed? Something we should have added? Maybe there’s something happening on campus we haven’t been covering as much as you would have liked. Maybe we haven’t covered it at all.
Nothing brings us more joy than receiving feedback. A letter to the editor — now that’s big news down here in 113 College Hall.
We haven’t gotten a lot of those in recent years save for a handful from the folks in the administration to clarify some points we included in a story. Not to say those aren’t appreciated, they always are. But where are the rest of our readers?
We want to cover what you care about the most, and we want to know what you think about our coverage of current events. The good news is, it’s easier now more than ever to give us a piece of your mind.
The easiest way is to write a comment. Every article we publish on our website (duquesneduke.org) comes with its own comment section where you can voice your opinion on a story or give your own perspective on the issues we cover.
The more formal way to make your point is by sending a letter to the editor. All we ask is that you send no more than 300 words double spaced to our email, theduqduke@gmail.com, by 5 p.m. on Tuesday to get into our upcoming issues. We also ask that you provide your full name and your school or department. You can write about whatever you want, we just ask that you keep the letters respectful. Our editors have final say over what gets published, and it’s unlikely that a letter full of insults and personal attacks will see the page.
Finally, you can easily get in touch with us on our website’s homepage where we have an email form that goes straight to our inbox. You can leave tips, comments or find out how else you can contribute to us.
We’re here as a service to this community that you’re all a part of. To better provide that service, we want to hear from you about what we can do better.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Editorial Staff
The Duquesne Duke
