A student died late Thursday night in her campus residence, Leanna Fenneberg, senior vice president for student life, announced in an email on Friday.
The City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Police is handling the investigation of the death. No criminal activity is suspected.
The email said the university is in contact with the student’s family.
There will be walk-in availability today at the Wellbeing Center Counseling Services in Gumberg Library. Members of Campus Ministry and Spiritans are also available.
“Please be mindful of one another as people may process this sad news in different ways and do not hesitate to avail yourself of the resources on campus if you need them,” Fenneberg said in the email. “The university continues to keep the student and her family in our prayers.”
